My SAM4 stream to loudcaster appears to send only artist-title. I am using $combine$. Those who use SAM4 and get artist-title-album to appear, what are you using instead of $combine$?

Wayne, it's a hit or miss for me. I send the same info to Loudcaster and to Live365. Sometimes the album gets displayed at Loudcaster and sometimes it doesn't. The info gets listed on Live365 for all tracks. I use the track editor in Sam that uses Amazon to fill the tags. I use Sam4 for 2 stations.

It seems that the album for me never gets displayed on the radiowayne stream here at Loudcaster but it does at Live365. My cajun station uses Playlist STudio and the album info gets displayed.

    Try %artisr %- title % - Album.

    The correct format in SAM4 is $artist$ - $title$ - $album$

What's the best way to tag station IDs?
  • reaperreaper May 2011
I use ID/PSA for the Album and Artist. If using the DJBot, just use ID which is available when you click on edit.
  • 50s4ever50s4ever May 2011
I was also using ID/PSA for album/artist as it was needed to be compatible with Live365. I have since cancelled L365 and I'd now prefer not to see the L365 artwork as the album art. So I guess LC doesn't require the ID tags in the album/artist tags if using their ID feature in DjBot. Thanks

I am not sure where the Live365 logo is coming from. I see the same thing on my stations. It has to be coming from Last.FM, but why?
  • 50s4ever50s4ever May 2011
I changed all my ID tags to ID in both album & artist. Now I get no album art. It's better than the L365 logo. I don't know why either but I think you're right about it having to come from Last.FM.
  • DJTDJT May 2011
It does come from LastFM. I've noticed it before on some of my more obscure tracks. (Actually, come to think of it, it's only on my IDs, sorry...)

I have no idea why. Just another reason why I'm not a fan of the LastFM album art / artist images. Not a full blown complaint; more like a pet peeve.
  • DJTDJT May 2011
I think it's because Live365 was the ones who pretty much pioneered the whole "label your ids as ID/PSA" on artist and album", so if anyone uses the same mp3 labeling procedure, LastFM picks up on that and displays the Live365 logo. Maybe a LastFM user tagged anything by the artist ID/PSA as Live365 for the album art.

Does Anybody Know The Formula You Have To Use In Station Playlist To Send Artist-Title-Album,to the DSP Encoder
  • DJTDJT February 5
Under "Now Playing", "Stream Metadata", make sure Output to DSP encoder is checked, then under Template, the formula is

    %a - %t - %T

Make sure that Station Playlist can read the Foreign Tags under Track Properties if you don't have them updated to SPL's properties (I think SPL uses some APE version of the tags...I'm not sure. All I know is I have to have Station PlayList read the foreign tags before it will display them. YMMV.)

I know that $title$ - $artist$ - $album$ works in both Sam and RadioBoss. Take it for what it's worth.
