Transcoding

I've looked but not found a definitive answer so far so here goes: I am planning to join Loudcaster but I have a question about the broadcasting live. It appears that the output from the Loudcaster is 32Kbps, 44khz, stereo +AAC. What do I use to stream to the server? For whatever reason I simply cannot stream AAC, the audio is so warbly and distorted when I do so. So, I assume to get 44khz and stereo output I would need at least 96Kbps 44khz, stereo MP3 -OR- 64Kbps, 44khz, stereo OGG uplink from my computer?

My second question is what format files can I upload for the auto-dj? Does it matter since those too will be transcoded to the AAC format?

    128 mp3 44.1khz or 64k OGG.

Upload files as mp3's at 128k or larger.

I believe that most of this info is available in your Broadcaster Dashboard under Help.

OK, I am up and running now. I tried OGG at 64Kbps, 44Khz, stereo, but it sounded awful. I then tried 96Kbps, 44khz, stereo and it sounded just fine.

I Recommend either 128K Mp3 for the uplink live but if you can't do that because of lack of upload speed then 96K Mp3 but with the sample rate at 44.1 Khz at 96K often causes any word beginning with S to have a Shhh sound. If you can lower the sample rate to 22 Khz or 24 Khz you'll get a better result. Even 64K Mp3 22.1 sample rate is reasonable and don't sound all that bad.
