Is there a way to turn the broadcast off? I see no On/Off button in the dashboard. Let's say I want my station to go silent for several hours, how do I make that happen?

Yes this would be good. Live365 has that switch and also when your stream drops it waits for about a minute and says "please wait while we try and reconnect. This lets the listeners know your station is malfunctioning instead of someone who is on drugs flipping songs back and forth. I've had listeners ask me if I was smoking crack before on my Rockline.
