Listener location statistics
  • TheLexTheLex January 19
I apologize if this has been addressed elsewhere. I've searched for an answer, but no luck.

I love the new map showing listeners. But, I'd really like to know the locations and listening times of all my listeners; not just those that happen to be connected when I look at my stats. Is there an accessible a database somewhere that provides this info?

    Thanks

Its getting better, but the locations are not accurate at all. I'm at a friend's house listening to my station and when I log on it says Grantsboro NC and that is not where I'm listening from. When I use ip-address.org and the Shoutcast DNAS for my Shoutcast listeners its way more accurate. I like to know when locals are listening to my station and people from who's town I've visited and promoted my station from. This helps me gauge rather my promotion efforts are working or not.

Even with poor accuracy, I would still like to access the locations (or ip addresses) of previous listeners. I have very few shoutcast listeners, so your approach wont work for me, thelegacy. Are you aware of any way for me to "look back" at the locations of previous listeners?

Could you use Google Analytics and use the URL for your station page on Loudcaster? I use it for one of my sites and it provides a wealth of information.

That seems like a good idea. I use Google Analytics for some of my WordPress pages.

Don't you have to paste a code into the body of the html for that, though? Just wondering if I'm missing something.

Thanks for the Google Analytics tip. I signed up and put the script on my web page, so I'll be able to track that. But, as DJT mentioned, to enable tracking, a script has to be added to the web page, and I'm not sure that is possible with the station page on Loudcaster.

Maybe that is a feature Brandon can look at putting in place.
