DJBot not working according to Rotation Rules
  • hymnjimhymnjim January 10
Hi. I have been having problems with the djbot playing songs from the same albums back to back or the same artists within a short time not according to how I have set the rotation rules. I have it set on 60 minutes for the same artist and 120 minutes for the same album. I have reset the djbot to see if that would help but it has not so far. Any suggestions?

Did you restart your bot after making changes?

I'd recommend 120 minutes before the same artist is played. You are not allowed to play more than 3 songs from the same artist within an hour. So 120 minutes will be sure to help not break any rules as far as the DMCA goes. See if this helps not break the DMCA rules.
  • I've found problems with the rotation. It has a habit of playing the same songs over and over, but seems to stick to the rules. Not sure if the rotation has a weight balance as used by Sam Broadcaster. Anyway I went live with Sam.

Yup. It actually got worse and has played same artist same album back to back. Yikes! I am still adding more artists and songs to give the bot more of a selection. I hope it gets better.

I'd recommend 120 minutes before the same artist is played.

I will give that a try, thanks.

I've found that not much comes close to SAM Broadcaster as far as playlist rotation goes. Even desktop software don't come closeer would kill the competition . What needs to be invented is server side SAM Broadcaster. KWD Servtices worked on an online clone of SAM but one of there programmers thought they were not making enough money and killed the project. Maybe Loudcaster V3 will tackle it. Loudcas

Loudcaster would kill the competition then.

I hope in the future, Loudcaster will come up with a first party software but slight better and more advance than what L365 had to offer. I sware they had a good first part software but sadly didn't evolve very well. I have tried sam but I could get it to set up right so I gave up. masted one damn day of the free trail and gave up. for now I'm happy with djbot for now

I watched lots of youtube videos and this is how I learned SAM. Plus I had someone I trusted use remote access to teach me SAM. Now that I have Learned most of it I don't know how I ever did without it. My station never sounded better when my Internet works right. Time Warner really sucks here.

well, right now I'm still with a weak wifi because someone in my house has a computer that is wired with a cable modem. this is one of the prices I havce to pay for living with folks at age 39 LOL. don't ditch for not leaving nest yet. it suck that it be coming a bit a bullshit taboo. anyway, back on topic. I maybe concider doing some pre-recorded bits in the future to add more personality to the station. I have already been monkeying around with the station page background. I'm getting more created with it right now at this point. I'm making a new background for each month of the year but doing it one month at a time. something I toyed with last month when LC2 went live

Hool if you want you can buy a hub and split the connection. I had a similar problem when I redid my station and wanted to go live 24/7. All my ports were full on my modem. I bought a hub and expanded my ports. Now instead of 4 ports I have 12.

I gona through some kind of shit with getting something simular but nothing works. I'm gonna go through hell convensing some poeple who just flat out bust my balls over trying to fix the issue. the computer that is running on cable is hooked to netgear router. is a bit a bitch becuase the sucker died last year and had to get a new one repla

djBot is working much better now after I changed to 120 minutes for same artist. Plus I have added a few more artists to my library. Now only if Loudcaster had a one page library of artist that would be a BIG help. Thanks
