How do I go about submitting my station to TuneIn? I'm currently replacing my old stream for a Loudcaster stream. Usually when I submit a change, they get it done within a day or two. I've been trying to get in contact with them, and have been getting no response.

Am I allowed to submit my Loudcaster stream to TuneIn?

It should have automatically been submitted if you opted to be listed in the Shoutcast directory. Mine was listed way back when Loudcaster was in private Beta. You should check your subscription status and or send in a ticket.

I've tried Loudcaster once before back in August with a paid subscription, I was given that option, but I didn't take it because I didn't know if it would cost extra or not.

I just started up a free trial, and am planning to stay aboard. But it seems the vast majority of regular listeners are listening via TuneIn somewhere. And if TuneIn doesn't have the proper information, I'll lose them when I shut down the other service.

My guess is you'l have to opt for that Shoutcast public listing (Which does cost a little more but worth it) after you get your Shoutcast listing search for your station on Shoutcast and find the Mp3 stream. Next in winamp pro highlight your station in the playlist and press Alt+3 and you'll get the ip and port. Now submit that to TuneIn Radio alont with your station's name and the fact its on Loudcaster and you should be listed there too. Remember to tell them your Genre as well.

    Hope this helps.

Where do I go to edit my subscription? I'm still in a 15 day free trial. I'm still wondering what happens after this trial ends (payment, etc)

  • thelegacythelegacy January 8
Well I was around before the FREE TRIAL stuff started, but on other services I've tried after your 15 days, 30 days or whatever if you don't cancel you get charged the subscription rate for the package you ordered. If you want to idit your subscription from what I understand you have to go to the old Loudcaster dashboard. Anyone else know if this is still in effect?

You need to contact support to edit your subscription right now.

I did contact support, they said they were working on a way for me to modify my subscription before the 15 day trial ends.

As of now, there is no way for me to do it on my own,
  • ...right now on the new BETA dashboard I am seeing no options for that. I am already on board with Tune In because I chose that option on the old dashboard. I was one of the BETA testers for the new dashboard, but right now it is missing.

    ooops nevermind.

Keep in mind that if Loudcaster discontinues offering the TuneIn listing and you submit your station yourself you are violating Loudcaster's ToS which sates:

The license Loudcaster operates within is not passed through to you, it exists on the network where the content is placed. This network consists of Loudcaster.com and official Loudcaster apps. That means someones eye, ears and mouse-clicks go through an official Loudcaster app. If you re-publish your channel outside of the network then you lose the music royalty benefit of Loudcaster. That means Loudcaster plays no role in your broadcast beyond a simple host and you take on the responsibility for any applicable music royalties.

You could (if you have shoutcast) go with http://streamlicensing.com and use that to be able to list your station on iTunes (Way better than TuneIn). I read that with streamlicensing.com it is OK to list your station on iTunes. Plus you'd get the added benefit of being on their directory as well as Loudcaster's and Shoutcast. But if http://streamlicensing.com ends up being rouge like http://swcast.net was and didn't actually use your money to pay royalties then well its anyone's guess as to what the copyright police will do to you. But from what I've read they are legit.

Maybe Loudcaster is gonna offer a Pro broadcaster deal later. But Pro is expensive on other services like Live365. But if Loudcaster allowed a co op program well that could really work.

I hope though that the Grandfather clause will ring true for the ones that have been around since Loudcaster first started in beta. Beta testers should get extra status for these are the ones who helped to develop Loudcaster through reports and input. It really is a Dog eat Dog world when it comes to the RIAA and their partners. So everyone is on Red Alert and following everything By The Book. Hence why adsence calls us stations "illegal download sites" which its not, but due to lack of education and or just trying to be sure they ain't gonna be sued this is what we all live with.

Best thing is to move to an offshore island if you really want your station listed everywhere and be sure to get a Shoutcast host that is also offshore. It just p's me off that even though these guys get paid royalties they have to be so picky. OK enough ranting. I'll go in my corner now and relax.
