Programming tracks with DJ bot
  • QEZradioQEZradio November 2011
Is there any way to program the DJ bot to designate how often tracks with a particular music style will play (other than doing so with a playlist)? I am trying to determine if there is a way so I don't have those types of tracks play so frequently or back-to-back?

    Thanks

Maybe make the tracks you want to spin more often power tracks and leave the others alone.

I have about 750 tracks thus far in my acct. There are maybe 50 of them that I would want to play intermittently...maybe 2 tracks per hour and never back-to-back. Would selecting the other 700 tracks as "power tracks" resolve that issue? Or would it create a situation where those 50 tracks would begin to play too infrequently?

I'm finding the DJ Bot to be perfectly useless and wish I could opt out of it. Having to hand pick the music is time consuming but it's better than a few songs coming up all the time at the expense of all the others.

And even then, in handpicking all the songs, there's bugs with the playlists in that some will start, and then restart just out of the blue. I know nothing will ever be perfect but ... well, you know, frustrating.

@QEZradio - in another iteration or so, we should have more advanced category based rotation.

@Jayson. - It's not in our plans to make the DJBot replicate advanced radio automation software like SPL, SAM or Megaseg. The DJBot was built to fill in the gaps between live broadcasts, but it does a good job as a primary means of broadcast for broadcasters that don't have many scheduling requirements.

You don't have to use the DJBot. Loudcaster was built to be as open as possible. You can broadcast remotely, using dozens of commercial or opensource radio automation packages.

I found that my rotation was much less repetitive after around 1200 songs....Last time I looked I had close to 2000 songs in the bot's library.....Your total song count really has a big effect on how the bot is able to handle things.
