Not trying to down anyone, but my recommendation to starrfoxx is to Update your Sam to 4.91 (If You Can) because 4.3.6 has known issues with the clockwheel playlist rotation rules. It was the version I used a few years ago and had lots of DMCA issues no matter how I set the playlist rules and no matter how many tracks I had in that version.

I realize you say you really don't use it, but when you do want to broadcast live you don't want it to start repeating or just playing at random it just doesn't stand up to 4.91 or even 4.80 (which is less graphical but still does good) for older less robust computers I've heard folks tell me they like 4.80 and never updated to 4.91.

Thought I'd jump into this thread since I just changed my equipment.

Processor: Intel i7 Sandy Bridge Quad Core
    OS: Windows 7 64
    Ram: 12gb

Hard Drive: roughly 900gb of usable space, external drive

Broadcast Software: Station Playlist Studio (Standard) with SPL Creator for scheduling, Stereo Tool 6.21 DSP

Recording Software: Adobe Audition CS5.5, Audacity

    Microphone: Audio Technica 2020 USB

REALLY basic (and sometimes unreliable) DSL to send it all through. lol

Of course, this is only part time (I'm not Live 24/7) because this is my primary computer, used to produce video, surf, and other computer stuff. I really should get a dedicated computer just for radio, but right now, this is it.

(Now if I can just figure out how to work all of it.)

We use a custom built tower:

    Windows XP Pro

    AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6000+ 3.01 GHz

    4 Gigs RAM

    2 320 Gig Hard drives
    2 500 Gig hard drives

Sound Blaster Audigy 2 sound card

    Stagg MD-500 microphone

    SAM Broadcaster

    Internet connection 30M/4M

Recording software - Adobe Soundbooth, Cakewalk, Steinberger Suite

I originally built this computer 5 years ago for my wife to use for her web design business and I used another custom build for the station....Over the last two years twists of fate forced us to add my hard drives to her tower....Maybe on day I'll be able to build a dedicated system for the station again.

@crossstreetradio way to go on the B&W Speakers. The Rock Solids are nice too. I love to sit back and let the music flow when listening to a pair of B&W's connected to a Rotel or Classaie separate Pre/Power amps and XLR cables. Ohhh how I miss the days when I could afford a system like that but hearing this makes me remember the days of yesteryear when I had the dough. Maybe when I get those charges pressed on a certain individual who stole $$ from us and after paying the bills I can slowly save for a system like that again.

Howdy, Stranger!
